Two arrests made in east Columbus homicide

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred one week ago just east of Downtown, Columbus.
Giavon Hayes, 19, was arrested Tuesday by Columbus police and Mi’Shawn Thomas, 18, was placed in custody Thursday by Reynoldsburg police. Both suspects were taken to Franklin County Jail and faces murder charges.

The charges stem from a fatal shooting that occurred on Nov. 14 in the 900 block of Eaton Grove. Officers arrived to the Mount Vernon neighborhood and found 18-year-old Darnell Brown-Jones suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:29 p.m.
On Thursday, Hayes was issued a $1 million bond in Franklin County Municipal Court, while Thomas has yet to appear in court.
