Small Friend Records and Books
Located next to Jardin on North Lombardy Street in Richmond's Fan District, Small Friend Records and Books is a woman-owned store offering used books and records.
According to its website, the store has a focus on "the radical, weird and obscure."

Fountain Bookstore

Fountain Bookstore is located on East Cary Street in Richmond's Downtown area. According to the shop, it hosts more author programs than any other shop in Virginia.
In addition to a wide variety of new books, the shop also offers a "quirky selection" of cards, stickers and other bookish goodies.

Shelf Life Books

Shelf Life Books, formerly known as Chop Suey Books, is located next to Pho Lucas in Richmond's Carytown area. It's locally owned and is home to two tuxedo cats named Page and Mylar who "roam the kingdom."
The shop unionized in March, which the owners voluntarily chose to recognize. It offers a wide variety of both new books on the lower level and used books upstairs.

Book People
Located next to Glory Days Grill in the Gleneagles Shopping Center Henrico County's West End, Book People offers both new and used books.
According to its website, the shop offers a 20% discount for teachers in-store and online.

Located off of Midlothian Turnpike in Chesterfield County's Midlothian area, the locally-owned shop offers a wide variety of used books at "affordable prices," according to its website.

The Little Bookshop is locally owned and located near Unplugged Games Café in Chesterfield County's Midlothian area.
