MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) - Hungry Neck Boulevard has reopened to traffic Thursday following an early morning pursuit that ended in a deadly single-vehicle crash. Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 1:30 a.m. after a 2015 Jaguar with three occupants attempted to evade law enforcement while traveling on Hungry Neck Blvd. The driver traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree. Officials said the driver and one occupant died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital where they later died. Troopers say no contact was made between the vehicle and law enforcement. Hungry Neck Blvd was closed since around 2:30 a.m. from Venning Rd to Market Center Blvd. The police reopened the roadway just before 11 a.m. The Charleston County Coroner's Office has not yet released the names of the deceased. An investigation is ongoing.
