ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man and a woman were taken into custody after a police chase led to an officer getting injured.
According to the Rochester Police Department, they were dispatched to Monroe Avenue Thursday morning for reports of a commercial burglary.
Officers said the two suspects tried to drive away in a car, but one officer tried to apprehend the driver, who then sped off. The officer received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
A police chase ensued, which ended when the driver ran out of the car on South Avenue. Both suspects — a man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s — were arrested. Officers said the car they were driving was reported stolen from Greece.
The investigation is ongoing. Criminal charges against the suspects are pending.
