2 South Kingstown men killed in car crash remembered as ‘bright lights’

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — When describing Samuel White and Andres Naranjo, their loved ones use similar words for both young men, including “a bright light” and “a vibrant personality.”
Police responded to a single vehicle accident on Mumford Road in Narragansett Saturday morning around 1 a.m.
Two individuals, now identified as White and Naranjo, were pronounced dead at the scene while an additional two individuals were taken to the hospital.
According to his obituary, Samuel White, who was born in South Kingstown and was a graduate of the high school, had recently started his career as a yacht broker, pairing his love of boating with his skill of connecting with people.
He spent two years at Bryant University and The University of Rhode Island where he played soccer for both schools.
His loved ones shared that Sam loved traveling to new places and spending time with both family and friends, and especially loved adventure and being on the water, whether it was skydiving or traveling the world on a super yacht.
“Sam’s smile and personality were infectious and he was a bright light that everyone was drawn to. Sam truly lived and loved life,” his obituary further stated.

Naranjo, born in Weymouth, Mass., was a graduate from the University of Tampa, where he would go on to work as an Assistant Vice President of Business Development at Captive Resources.
“He possessed an innate ability to connect with others, making people laugh and lifting their spirits,” his obituary stated.
Naranjo was also a member of the Lusitana Soccer Club and the Canary Islands Golf Club, where “he loved to showcase his skills and share his love for both sports with his friends and family.”
“His hobbies included soccer, tennis, golf, and pickle ball, as well as indulging in video games and house music, while often found at the gym, striving for personal growth and well-being,” the obituary further states.
“His spirit and zest for life will live on in the countless memories shared by those who knew him.”
Loved ones for both men will honor them today in separate services.
