PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Board of Licenses will meet today after four nightclubs were ordered to close after violent incidents.
Lovera VIP, a nightclub located on Broadway, was ordered to temporarily close after three people were stabbed early Saturday morning.
Police responded to the club on Broad Street just before 1:45 a.m. and found three men – ages 27, 28, and 33 – suffering from stab wounds.
Mezzo Lounge on Charles Street was also ordered to close after a shots fired incident.
No one was hurt, but three cars were found riddled with bullets and several shell casings were found in the area by police.
Earlier in the month, Saje Kitchen was ordered to close after a knife fight broke out.
The restaurant’s owner was arrested after he was allegedly involved in the fight, and police allege he punched the victim during the fight.
Afrique D’Lounge was also closed temporarily after a security guard was involved in an incident where someone was slashed with a knife.
The Providence Board of Licenses will review each of the restaurants to determine if they can continue to operate.
