L.A. was just named one of the best cities in the world and we couldn’t agree more
Nov 20, 2024
Marketing group Resonance Consultancy and Ipsos, a multinational market research and consulting firm, just released the annual best cities in the world ranking, and five U.S. cities made the top 20—including our very own Los Angeles at number 14.
In terms of methodology, the report—which surveyed 22,000 folks in 31 different countries—seeks to analyze both “the performance and perception of cities around the world,” according to an official press release. Data points used to generate the list include factors related to livability, lovability and prosperity.
With all that in mind, London ranked number one in the study for the 10th year in a row—but American towns surely hold their own as well.
In addition to L.A. at #14, four other U.S. cities made the list: New York (#2), San Francisco (#12), Chicago (#17) and Seattle (#19).
“After a series of recent centennials, including that of the Hollywood Sign and Warner Bros. Studios, L.A.’s focus is now on its ‘Decade of Sport,’” reads the portion of the survey focusing on L.A. “The Memorial Coliseum and the newly built SoFi Stadium will host a slate of global events, from the 2026 FIFA World Cup to the Olympics and Paralympics in 2028, making L.A. the first U.S. city to host the Olympics three times.“
The expansions at the Hammer Museum and LACMA are also mentioned, as is LAX’s major overhaul and the new $1.7-billion Regional Connector Transit Project.
Clearly, our city is awesome.
