Each councilor has also listed capital outlay projects in their district. They include improving Ladera Golf Course and adding pickleball courts there, plus making improvements to Route 66 for the upcoming 100th celebration.   [2] Albuquerque man claims he was almost run over due to faulty crosswalk - Adelious Stith said he has been fighting the city for seven years to put a crosswalk on Americas Parkway near the new Markana Uptown Apartments. He said he was almost run over on November 4. Recent photos show the crosswalk blocked off, with signs and black trash bags covering the lights and button. Stith claims in April the crosswalk was fully functional and showed pictures where it was not blocked off. The City of Albuquerque says the crosswalk was just installed and has not been turned on yet. [3] Chilly, drier, & still windy weather for New Mexico - Colder and drier air will continue to filtrate in for the next 24 hours with the coldest air of the season for most of the Land of Enchantment by tomorrow morning. However, temperatures will then rebound later this week with drier air as winds will then let up. [4] Blue Cross Blue Shield Grant to medical foundation - Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico is giving a $500,000 grant to the New Mexico Medical Foundation to help individually owned physician practices across the state recruit and retain health care professionals. The company says the money will go toward signing and retaining retention bonuses, moving costs for physicians relocating, salary assistance and loan repayment support. [5] Holiday film, created in New Mexico, premieres at beginning of December - "Santa's Cousin" was written, directed and produced by New Mexico State University students. The project was filmed throughout Las Cruces and parts of southern New Mexico. The film follows the story of Santa's reluctant cousin, who saves a Christmas Jubilee for the picturesque town of Ruidoso and finds love along the way. 'Santa's Cousin' is set to premier December 4th in Las Cruces.
