TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Visalia man was sentenced to 150 years to life in prison for molesting children, the Tulare County District Attorney's Office announced Monday. The DA's office states that 60-year-old Jerome Avilez was found guilty of nine felony counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of 14. Court records reveal the jury found true that Avilez committed the crimes against multiple victims with some acts constituted as substantial sexual conduct. The crimes were committed against three girls between 2021 and 2022. DA: 60-year-old Visalia man guilty of child molestation Additionally, attorneys say the court found true that Avilez possessed a prior conviction for a forcible lewd act upon a child from 1988. The DA reports that Avilez was sentenced on Nov. 14 to 150 years to life in prison for child molestation.
