Convicted murderer from Connecticut arrested in Springfield on gun charges

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man convicted in connection with a murder over 20 years ago was arrested in Springfield Friday after police found a firearm during a traffic stop.
At around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop after they observed a vehicle with a suspended registration pull into a gas station on Main Street. An inventory search was performed inside the car before it was towed because it was unregistered.

Police found an illegally loaded firearm under the driver’s seat mat and arrested 45-year-old Nemlon Adams of Manchester, Connecticut.

Adams is charged with the following:
Carrying a Firearm without a License
Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License
Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Firearm Violation with 1 Prior Violent/Drug Crime
Springfield police revealed that Adams was convicted in 2000 in connection with a Connecticut murder.
