Car crashes into Caroline post office, leaves hole in brick wall

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A driver crashed their car into the brick wall of a Caroline County post office on Monday, causing significant damage to the building.
The crash took place the afternoon of Monday, Nov. 18, at the Bowling Green U.S. Post Office, located at 117 Milford Street.
Fire-EMS Chief Jason Loftus told 8News that the driver was "confused" about whether or not they were in drive or reverse.

According to Loftus, they drove their car about two feet into the post office, putting a hole in the brick wall.
No one was injured as a result of the crash. The post office has been closed pending the evaluation of the county's building official, who will assess the damage and determine next steps.
