FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Fresno's push to create a walking and biking trail project through the heart of the city has already earned recognition from the American Public Works Association, even before it's finished. The American Public Works Association (APWA) Central California Region awarded the city's Midtown Trail Project. The trail, which is still under construction, began in February 2022 intending to link the Old Town Clovis trail to Manchester Center. “We are proud to see the Midtown Trail Project recognized at this level,” said Director of Public Works Scott Mozier. “It demonstrates the incredible teamwork and shared vision of everyone involved in building a better Fresno.” “As our city grows, we’re taking on more and more large-scale infrastructure projects. Fortunately, we have an incredible team in place to get these projects done,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. The city says the Midtown Trail Project will cost $22 million upon completion.
