Chiefs focused on bigger picture after first loss of season

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Kansas City Chiefs were in the loss column for the first since Christmas after falling 30-21 to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
The Chiefs started out the season 9-0 and had reeled off 15 straight wins, and while going undefeated seemed very unlikely, a win against Buffalo would've made things a lot more interesting.

"The undefeated thing was cool but that's not our ultimate goal so we'll keep building towards that," Patrick Mahomes said.
Many others on the team expressed similar sentiments and there was also a common theme among the players: remember the feeling.
"I think everybody in this locker room plays this game cause they hate losing, so just keep that feeling and get ready for Sunday," Deandre Hopkins said.
"It's not a defining moment for us but it is a learning moment for us we'll continue to build on top of and remember this feeling, take it with us the rest of the year," Justin Reid said.
"Remember the feeling," Leo Chenal said. "We want to remember this feeling going into next week and the week after that and possibly the next time we play them. Remember the feeling and how much it hurts. We know the feeling of winning, but to get a little taste of losing, we gotta remember it."
These two teams could very well see each other once again in January with a lot higher stakes on the line.

This was the Bills fourth straight regular season win over the Chiefs, but they have yet to beat them in the playoffs since Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes became the starters.
The Chiefs now sit at 9-1 and still control their own destiny for the first seed in the AFC. They head to Charlotte next Sunday to face the Carolina Panthers at 12 p.m.
