Storm wraps up on Monday

Rain and snow will continue across New Mexico tonight. The state is expected to dry out tomorrow afternoon.
The low pressure system continues to make its way towards New Mexico today. The moisture ahead of the low is causing widespread rain across southern and eastern New Mexico. The rain is stretching as far north as the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The heaviest rainfall is currently in the southwest and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
The low is also brining snowfall to higher elevations. The snowfall is expected to increase across the Gila National Forest and the Northern Mountains as temperatures drop below freezing. Upwards of 6" is expected for elevations above 8000' feet. 8" is possible for elevations above 9000'. Due to this snowfall, the national weather service has issued winter weather advisories for portions of the Sacramento Mountains and the Gila National Forest. These watches will be in place through 8 a.m. Monday November 18th.
The low pressure will continue to move towards New Mexico tonight and will settle over southeast New Mexico early Monday morning. Due to the movement of the low, rainfall will intensify across Southern New Mexico throughout the night. Early tomorrow morning the heavy rain will shift towards the southeast and eastern New Mexico. 1-2" of rain is the expected accumulation for the eastern portions of New Mexico.
The low pressure will move out of the state by late Sunday morning. The precipitation will leave the state Sunday morning as well. One the low pressure leaves westerly flow will be increased across New Mexico. Strong wind gusts of 45-55 mph are expected from southeastern to central New Mexico.
A second low pressure system will clip northern New Mexico Tuesday afternoon. This pressure system will only be bringing very spotty rain and snow chances to the far north of New Mexico. The system will be bringing strong winds to northern and central New Mexico. It will also be cooling of temperatures. High's on Wednesday will be 5-15 degrees below average.
The cooler temperatures won't be lasting very long though. A high pressure system will form to the southwest of New Mexico by the middle of this week. This high will warm temperatures back up to near seasonal averages and return clear and sunny skies to the state.
