MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Police are looking for three men who fired shots at a nightclub after one of them got kicked out of Las Toxicas at Summer Avenue and I-240. The three suspects were caught on camera walking away from the club together. A security guard, who did not want to be identified, said they got into a silver Honda, left the lot, and fired a shot toward him and several other employees. "There wasn't an altercation between security and them, there wasn't an altercation between them and other people," he said. "So we were stunned. Like, why did it turn the way it turned?" The security guard said before the shooting, the men were holding AR-style pistols in a threatening manner. He said after the suspects fired at the club they turned around and shot several more times toward the business and that's when he returned fire. "My mind wasn't in the moment of you might get shot; it was more you need to protect the people that are up there," he said. Las Toxicas suspects (MPD) Police said no one at the bar was hurt, but the suspects did hit a food truck on the property. Officers confiscated the security guard's firearm as part of the investigation. Police said the suspects' silver Honda Civic was found abandoned in the 5110 block of Summer Avenue. Friday night, Las Toxicas looked dark. Cars were there but the gate was locked. Residents at the nearby motel say that is a bit unusual for the bar, but say it is understandable considering the amount of issues they've had. "It's really the club bro, when the club starts popping off Thursday, Friday and Saturday, you know all of us back here, we get prepared," said concerned neighbor Wesley Smith. "It's been getting worse here the last couple of months." Naked, malnourished man rescued from ‘unliveable conditions,’ police say; one arrested Smith said when he moved into the motel, there were no shootings, but last month he says there were four or five in the area. According to the Memphis Police's Data Hub, from January until Friday, police recorded over 80 incidents in the area from aggravated assault, robbery, shootings and more. Smith says despite the stats, the club tries its best to curb crime. "I don't have no problem with it, but a lot of people don't feel safe," Smith said. "They do good, they got a security company that come through and everything. The motel ain't bad." If you recognize the suspects, call CrimeStoppers at (901)528-CASH.
