HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) -- Firefighters have been on the scene of a brush fire in northwest Harvey County since about noon Friday.
The fire is north of Burrton, about a half mile east of Burmac Road and Northwest 12th Street. The fire burned about 300 acres and threatened about a dozen homes, but no homes burned.

As of 3:30 p.m., the Kansas Forest Service says the fire is contained, but fire crews remain on the scene putting out hot spots.

Nine fire departments responded to the fire. They had a problem with trucks getting stuck in the mud.
