Fire at Green Bay singlestory residence results in $20,000 in damages, no injuries

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Three people in Green Bay were displaced after a fire broke out in a single-story two-family residence on Friday afternoon.
According to the release, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD) was dispatched to the area located in the 800 block of Neufeld Street around 2:15 p.m. Units arrived to moderate white smoke venting from the roof vents.
Fire crews searched the building and looked for the source, with thermal images locating the fire in the attic, insulation and structural spots surrounding a kitchen vent fan that overheated.

The vent fan overheated is currently the suspected cause at this time, with about $20,000 in estimated damages. The fire was extinguished about 12 minutes after arrival on site.
There were no injuries reported, however, three people have been displaced at this time.
