BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 64-year-old man on Friday pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing child sexual abuse material. Joseph Maretich is due back in court later this month and remains out of custody on $25,000 bail. An investigation began Oct. 16 when an employee in BPD’s digital forensics unit noticed what appeared to be child sexual abuse material on a phone being examined in an unrelated investigation, police said. A detective in the special victims unit was notified, and discovered additional illicit material, police said. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call BPD at 611-327-7111.
