Weather Alert: Sunny Weekend; Red Flag Warning Thru Saturday
Nov 15, 2024
WEATHER ALERT: RED FLAG WARNING EXTENDED INTO SATURDAY. Elevated fire risk continues. Dry weather will extend through the weekend as drought conditions worsen. Please, no outdoor burning and be careful how you discard smoking materials.
Good Evening
Latest data shows our drought continues to worsen. The rainfall deficit since September 1st is just over 7" putting our area in a "moderate to severe" drought for most.
We are also getting reports of local wells drying as ground water levels are being impacted by the drought. Not seeing any significant rain through Wednesday of next week
Red Flag Warning Extended Tonight Into Saturday
The combination of the very dry conditions, gusty winds and dry air now thru Saturday has prompted the Red Flag Warning to continue, meaning any brush fires could spread very quickly in these conditions.
