EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Playoffs are underway for local high school football programs as each remaining team vies for a title. In this week’s edition of the Friday Night Blitz, 12 Sports' Sam Knox and Mike Uva will bring you scores, highlights and more from around Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, including the Game of the Week: St. Raphael vs. La Salle. Providence Journal sportswriter Eric Rueb also joins us to break down the night’s games and highlight the area’s top talent. This season, 12 Sports is recognizing players through a new segment called Player of the Week. Voting was open Monday through Wednesday, and fans selected Rogers High School running back Alexander Toribio as this week's winner.
