Trees of Life ceremony to take place Nov. 16
Nov 15, 2024
(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care (PPHPC) will be celebrating big on Saturday, Nov. 16 for its 40th annual Trees of Life Tree Lighting Ceremony.
At 5 p.m. on Saturday, the only nonprofit hospital and palliative care provider in El Paso and Teller Counties will be hosting the tree lighting featuring two trees on the south lawn of the Pioneers Museum, located at 215 South Tejon Street.
Every year, PPHPC lights the trees to celebrate the memories of loved ones lost. During the ceremony, the names of those who have passed are read aloud in remembrance before the trees are illuminated.
Military members and first responders will also be remembered with their own special red, white, and blue tree in their honor.
The event will kick off at 5 p.m., and names will be read starting at 5:40 p.m. through 6 p.m. when the tree lightings will begin.
PPHCP invites the community to come be a part of it. All trees will remain lit through the winter holiday season.
