MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Smoke from what was believed to have been a fire at Norris Achievement Academy in South Memphis caused those at the school to evacuate on Friday morning, Memphis Police say.
Around 7:30 a.m., the Memphis Fire Department responded to reports of a potential school fire at Norris Road and Ball Road.
When firefighters arrived, they determined the smoke was coming from a portable chiller unit. MFD says there was no fire danger.
Memphis Police said that no children were inside the school, but all others evacuated the building.
