(KRON) -- A Morgan Hill man was killed in a three-vehicle crash that happened Thursday afternoon in Morgan Hill, California Highway Patrol said. CHP responded to the intersection of Monterey Road and Live Oak Avenue at about 1:55 p.m. for the report of a multi-vehicle crash. CHP said the man who died was going southbound on Monterey Road when he ran a red light and was hit by a Freightliner truck turning left onto Monterey Road. Cruise to pay $500K fine for covering up SF crash The impact of the crash knocked the first car into another car that was stopped at a red light going in the other direction on Monterey Road. The head-on crash caused both vehicles to overturn. The man who ran the red light died at a hospital. The driver of the other car that flipped over was hospitalized with what CHP described as major injuries. Debris from the crash hit another car, but the driver was unharmed. The driver of the Freightliner was also uninjured. Police did not identify the man who died but said he was 35 years old and from Morgan Hill. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
