FALL RIVER, Mass. (WPRI) — B.M.C. Durfee High School's homecoming and senior night football game scheduled for Friday has been postponed. Fall River Superintendent Dr. Tracy Curley said the decision was made "out of an abundance of caution" with advice from police after "safety concerns related to an altercation" that happened off-campus on Thursday. "While this incident is not directly connected to our school community alone, we believe it is in everyone's best interest to take extra precautions to ensure the safety and enjoyment of this special event," Curley explained. 12 News has reached out to Fall River police to ask about the details of the altercation. The game will now take place at noon Saturday. NEXT: 5 displaced, 1 taken to hospital after Fall River house fire Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
