Shelterinplace order lifted in Colorado Springs Thursday, suspect arrested

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has lifted a shelter-in-place order for people in the area of the La Quinta Inn near North Academy Boulevard and Voyager Parkway.According to CSPD, they were dispatched for a disturbance at the La Quinta Inn around 3:45 p.m. Thursday. They say a women had a restraining order against a man, later identified as 22-year-old Carlos Martinez there.CSPD says the reporting party said Martinez was armed, however, only an air soft gun was recovered at the scene. The alert was issued Thursday around 4:40 p.m. and was lifted around 8 p.m. Thursday.According to police, Martinez hid in a crawl space in the hotel, and they used chemical irritants to get him out.
