POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) – The corporation that owns Firehouse Subs is responding after a local veteran took to social media about her family's interaction with the franchise owner.
Brianna Lancaster and her mother, who is also a veteran, visited the restaurant on Veterans Day to take advantage of its specials for vets, according to the Facebook post.
While at the Pooler location, Lancaster said the owner lamented how much money the restaurant was losing and that the veterans were entitled.
Lancaster said what followed was name-calling and an order to leave the restaurant.

In a statement to WSAV Thursday, the corporate ownership of Firehouse apologized for what it says was the "unacceptable experience" the family had.
The statement continued:
This experience is not representative of the proud work of our brand, our franchisees and thousands of team members nationwide who collectively served nearly 150,000 meals this Veterans Day as a token of gratitude to our local heroes.
As an apology and to show our support to the Pooler veteran community, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has pledged to donate $25,000 to a local veteran organization that Ms. Lancaster has recommended.
News 3 is working to gather details on the organizations that would benefit from the donation.
