RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A very merry holiday market is coming to Maymont Park in Richmond during the first weekend of December, featuring dozens of local vendors. Maymont's "Merry Market" will fill the Carriage House Lawn with holiday cheer from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8. According to Maymont, over 70 local artisans will be in attendance, selling a variety of handmade gifts. Alongside all the holiday shopping, there will be a holiday train to ride, make-your-own crafts to enjoy, hot cocoa to drink and sweet treats to eat. Visitors can warm up around the fire pit -- or, for adults, by grabbing a drink from the Winter Wonder Bar. Richmond amphitheater announces first concert There will be holiday music and plentiful festive decorations all over the lawn and surrounding historic buildings, including fresh evergreen wreaths and garlands. Even jolly old Saint Nicholas will be in attendance. This event will be held rain or shine. If you'd like to attend, Maymont recommends purchasing a ticket in advance. Adult tickets are $10 each and tickets for children between 3 and 16 years old are $6. Maymont Members and those with Museums for All get in free.
