Ripon High School boy's varsity basketball coach arrested for sexual misconduct with minor

RIPON, Wis. (WFRV) - The boy's varsity basketball coach at Ripon High School was arrested on Tuesday, November 12, according to a release from the Ripon Area School District.
According to the release, the Ripon Police Department confirmed to officials in the Ripon Area School District that Mihai Schnell-Harrison was arrested and is in custody for sexual misconduct with a minor.

Court records show that Schnell-Harrison has not yet been officially charged. Authorities say charges are being formally reviewed by the Fond du Lac County District Attorney's Office.
"The safety of all students and staff is the District's top priority," the release said. "As such, please remind your child(ren) that if they experience anything or hear anything that makes them feel uncomfortable, they should tell a parent or trusted adult who can report the information to the proper authorities."
The Ripon Area School District says that school professionals are available for emotional and social support for students who may need it.

"We are committed to transparency and will continue to update the community within the bounds of privacy laws and the ongoing investigation," the release said. "Due to the ongoing investigation and sensitive nature of the case involving a minor, information is limited at this time."
