(CNN)– An antitrust case aimed at breaking up social media giant Meta is heading to trial. That is after a federal judge partly denied a request for summary judgment on Wednesday, Nov. 14, from the parent company of Facebook. The Federal Trade Commission alleges Meta overpaid for Instagram in 2012, and WhatsApp in 2014 to stifle competition.
