Congratulations to America with a united decision our country was on the wrong track with the Biden/Harris administration and the Democratic Party.Our country was founded on the basis of federalism. We are not a democracy.We are a republic. So, Mr Rogers, you are correct that we do have a different election process compared to Russia, China, North Korea and Iran.The United States of America was founded on just that: the united “states” of America.Understand, Mr. Rogers, what the term means.   The Electoral College allows for all states to have equal representation. The first stage of our (two-stage) election is a general vote of citizens and then in turn the state electors are selected. This allows small-population states to have representation.California, Florida and Texas should not be the deciding factor for smaller states like Utah. Mr. Rogers is flat wrong about the success of our election system. And the very system he feels is “what’s wrong with America.”Democracies tend to fail over time with the underlying concept of “mob rule.”Thus, we have the Electoral College and popular vote system.There has been a move, as Mr. Rogers is probably well aware, to undermine the Electoral College with the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. If this passes, Mr. Rogers will have his wish to eradicate our current system.
