HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) -- A man was shot multiple times in Hampton and was transported to a local hospital on Wednesday, police said. Around 10 p.m., police responded to a shooting in the 300 block of Fern Street. Officers arrived on the scene and located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. His injuries were considered non life-threatening. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had just returned home when he was approached by the suspect outside the residence. The suspect began firing in his direction, subsequently striking the victim. Police are asking for help identifying the suspect.
