AUSTIN (KXAN) — It's opening night of Texas high school football playoffs Thursday, and Class 3A teams get the spotlight in the KBVO Game of the Week. Lexington and Rice Consolidated meet at Memorial Stadium in Bastrop in the Class 3A-Division II bi-district round, and the Eagles haven't allowed any points in their previous two games. Lexington shut out Comfort and Rogers by a combined score of 97-0 and finished second in District 13 behind Blanco. Junior running back Noah Wright-Harris has rushed for 1,052 yards and 13 touchdowns. The Raiders finished third in District 14 behind 2023 state runner-up Tidehaven and East Bernard. Senior running back Dyren Johnson has rushed for 946 yards on 128 carries with seven touchdowns while sophomore quarterback Kordae Johnson has thrown for 1,504 yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The winner will advance to the area round and face Stockdale or George West. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. with Roger Wallace, Keith Moreland and Noah Gross calling the action.
