Nov 14, 2024
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Pressure is mounting for the resignation of Jefferson County Public Schools Chief Equity Officer John Marshall following a controversial social media post.
Marshall’s response on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) on Monday came after he was asked by professionals and students about strategies moving forward.
Lawmakers are calling his comments “racist” and “inflammatory,” suggesting they could instigate violence. According to WHAS 11, members of Kentucky’s Republican General Assembly are now demanding that Marshall resign.
Marshall has held the position of Chief Equity Officer for JCPS since 2012.
Assembly members have stated that if he does not step down, they will request the JCPS board and superintendent to terminate his employment.
