The Lake County Genealogical Society will be hosting a Nov. 21 Zoom meeting featuring Scott Norrick, of Ancestral Past. His presentation on “Ohio in 1950 — Insights and Discoveries From the 1950 Census” with an overview of the beginning of the post WWII era lifestyle and social environment based on his unique analysis of the 1950 Ohio census, will follow a brief business meeting of the LCGS at 10 a.m., according to a news release. Norrick earned a master’s degree from Northwestern University and has been published in the Indiana Genealogical Society’s Indiana Genealogist. He also presented at The Association of Professional Genealogists conference and has been a featured guest on the radio show/podcast Extreme Genes, the release stated. Those who are interested in working on their family trees and genealogical history are invited to a couple of free sessions in December. The LCGS will offer a FamilySearch Special Interest Group by Zoom at 10 a.m. Dec. 5. To register, email [email protected] or visit www.lcgsohio.org/contact. Then, on Dec. 12, those interested are welcome to attend a “Sleeves Up” research session starting from 10 a.m. until noon in the Genealogy room at Morley Library, 184 Phelps St. in Painesville. Attendees can use the computers and browse through the books and research material to search for information to add to family history. The Lake County Genealogical Society supports the genealogical collection at Morley Library  by donating materials, staffing the genealogy room, acquiring, sharing and filing genealogical newsletters, indexing items, and answering queries, the release stated.
