NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — If you love beignets and want to try a variety of them, then Beignet Fest is the perfect event for you.
Beignet Fest is holding its seventh annual celebration this year, and there will be over 30 vendors selling a variety of beignets, including sweet, savory, stuffed and covered beignets.
At Cafe Beignet, they are preparing to take part in this year's Beignet Fest. For the past two years, their traditional beignet won "Best Traditional Beignet" at the popular fest.

"Typically we sell over 1,000 beignets at Beignet Fest," Kevin Clark, sales manager at Cafe Beignet said.
Clark went on to say, "We've been prepping for two days to make sure we have enough dough. We go through 100 pounds of dough each day at each location."
At this year's Beignet Fest, Cafe Beignet will be selling their seasonal beignet, pecan praline beignets and their traditional beignet.

Amy Collins, co-founder of Beignet Fest said, "We're super excited because this year our festival will be in November instead of September, so it'll be cooler."

Beignet Fest will also include a Kid's Village and a great music line-up, including Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys, Imagination Movers, Big Sam's Funky Nation, Sierra Green and the Giants and Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen.
All this sweetness is for a sweet cause.

"The thing about Beignet Fest is it gives us a platform to talk about kids and individuals on autism spectrum and raise money for local programs that serves them," Collins said.
Beignet Fest is set for Saturday Nov. 16, at City Park, near the Christian Brothers School, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
