American Airlines to host hundreds of HBCU students in Charlotte for Smart Hackathon

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – American will host hundreds of students from more than 30 historically Black colleges and universities to compete in the ninth annual BE Smart Hackathon.
It takes place this Friday at the Charlotte City Center Marriott at 100 West Trade Street. The Hackathon begins at 1:40 p.m.
The event, themed as “All Code No Switch: Authentically Intelligent,” is fully sponsored for students to increase exposure to careers in technology across different industries, like aviation.
“Students will build real-life problem-solving skills, learn new technologies via industry training opportunities, network with IT and business professionals and connect with recruiters for internship and job opportunities,” the news release said.
