Man shot 2 teens at West Ashley gas station, police say

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston Police are investigating a West Ashley shooting that sent two teenagers to the hospital early Wednesday morning.
Authorities said shortly after midnight, Jamari Robbie Hazel was in the BlueWater gas station on Savannah Highway when he opened fire, shooting a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old multiple times.
Officers responded and found the suspect, later identified as Hazel, fled the scene before they arrived. Both victims were taken to a local hospital by EMS.
One victim is in stable condition with severe injuries, while the other has non-life-threatening injuries.
21-year-old Hazel was arrested Wednesday night and charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Detectives do not believe this was a random act of violence. However, the investigation is ongoing.
