San Diego Police Department investigators are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the driver in a College Area hit-and-run that left two women seriously injured earlier this month. The 19-year-old and 20-year-old pedestrians were struck outside of a crosswalk while running across College Avenue near Montezuma Road around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 2, Detective Sgt. Victoria Houseman said in a news release Wednesday. The driver fled before officers arrived, Houseman said. The two women were taken to a hospital, investigators said. An update on their condition was not immediately available Wednesday. Based on surveillance camera footage recovered from the area, investigators described the suspected vehicle as a dark-colored BMW 5-series with a broken driver’s side mirror and possible damage to the driver’s front end. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call the police department’s traffic division at (858) 495-7861 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
