Young child reunites with legal guardian after parental kidnapping: Napa PD

(KRON) -- A young child was reunited with their legal guardian on Tuesday after being kidnapped in Napa by the child’s mother, according to the Napa Police Department. The mother is facing a number of charges in the incident.
Napa police officers and detectives responded to the report of parental kidnapping on Tuesday, setting off “some very tense and frantic moments,” the department said. The mother grabbed the child, who was in their legal guardian’s arms, and took off, according to authorities.

Some time later, officers were able to locate the child and the mother in Redwood Plaza. The child was safely reunited with family.
The child’s mother was arrested and booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections for child stealing, child abuse, elder abuse, false imprisonment and criminal threats.
“We are grateful for the peaceful ending,” Napa PD said, “especially for this child.”
