(KRON) -- Authorities in Antioch are searching for the victims and a suspect involved in a vehicle-to-vehicle shooting that unfolded Tuesday morning along a main roadway. A man and a woman who were being shot at fled the scene after crashing their vehicle in a parking lot, the Vallejo Police Department said.
Antioch police responded at 11:24 a.m. to multiple reports of a shooting near Dutch Pride Gas and Food located at 507 East 18th Street. Arriving officers found a silver sedan that had crashed into several cars in a parking lot next to the gas station at 511 E. 18th St.
A preliminary investigation determined that the silver car had left the gas station traveling eastbound on E. 18th St. when a dark-colored sedan traveling westbound on the road began to open fire on the silver sedan as they passed. The silver sedan swerved northbound and collided with the vehicles in the parking lot of 511 E. 18th St.

A man and a woman stepped out of the crashed silver sedan and fled the scene in different directions, according to the investigation. Witnesses told police that the man was carrying a gun as he ran northwest.
Neither the man nor the woman could be located after an “extensive area check,” Antioch PD said. The dark-colored sedan continued westward on E. 18th St. at a high rate of speed and was not found by authorities.
Rocketship Delta Prep school, which shares the block with the gas station, was temporarily placed on lockdown until the scene was cleared.
“The investigation is in its preliminary stages and evidence and witness statements are being collected at this time,” police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Antioch Police Department non-emergency line at (925)-778-2441 or the Investigations Bureau at (925)-779-6925.
