Suspect sought in fatal stabbing near Embarcadero BART station

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The Embarcadero BART station in San Francisco closed Wednesday morning after a person was fatally stabbed, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The station has since reopened.
San Francisco Police Department officers responded at around 5:40 a.m. on a report of a person bleeding along Market Street near Main Street outside of the Embarcadero BART station. The male victim was located by police and CPR was initiated. Arriving SFFD personnel pronounced him deceased.

Authorities are searching for a suspect in the stabbing who reportedly fled down into the BART station. No other information on the suspect was immediately released by authorities. The SFPD Homicide Detail took over the investigation.
Bay Area Rapid Transit District officials announced the Embarcadero station was closed at 6:19 a.m. for SFPD assistance. The station reopened at 6:40 a.m. All trains were held during the closure, fire officials said.
