Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Three Baton Rouge teenagers are in jail after a St. John the Baptist Parish police chase. On Saturday, Nov. 9, around 6 p.m., an SJSO deputy reportedly spotted a Chevy Impala that was allegedly stolen during an East Baton Rouge carjacking, in LaPlace near West Airline Highway and Rue De Sante. The deputy also noticed that there were three people inside the Impala and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver allegedly refused and drove off, resulting in a chase. Deputies said the driver headed north on Louisiana Highway 51, reportedly driving recklessly, weaving in and out of lanes at approximately 80 to 85 mph in a 45-mph area. The driver then allegedly turned off the highway and into a field, drove through a chain fence and jumped in and out of a ditch, causing the vehicle to go airborne until it crashed into a tree. The three reportedly got out of the vehicle and ran away, according to deputies. Alvayanna Callahan, 17, was found near a Lake Pontchartrain Elementary school building. A 16-year-old girl was found hiding in a restaurant bathroom, and 18-year-old Jamal Bradley was found walking near the corner of Tuscany and Summerlin Drive. New Orleans police search for person, vehicle of interest in alleged attempted abduction Bradley and Callahan were booked each on a felony charge of illegal possession of stolen things and being held on a bond of $25,000. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says additional charges are possible.
