STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A man who claimed he'd been talking to a witch days before a shooting likely fueled by paranoia has been found guilty of murder. Yoshua Monday was found guilty after a five-day jury trial that ended Tuesday. Bryan Hall, 56, was shot multiple times while sitting inside an Angola apartment Oct. 12, 2023. According to court documents in the case, witnesses said 29-year-old Monday “had been talking to a witch" and was “acting very strange and paranoid for the past three days” leading up to the shooting. A woman told police she was waiting to drive Monday to run errands when she heard several gunshots. He came out of the apartment and was visibly shaken when he got in her car, according to court documents, telling the woman, “I did what they told me to do.” He kept saying “We need to leave,” when the woman told Monday to get out of her car, according to court documents. Monday faces between 45-85 years in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for December 4.
