PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Dual lows are going to churn across the eastern U.S., bringing sharp changes in our local weather.
There is a Frost Advisory in effect until 9 a.m. for Alamance, Chatham, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, and Randolph counties.
We have clear skies this morning and temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-=to-upper-30s near daybreak. We will have sunny skies for the first half of the day, then increasing clouds this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid-50s.
Cloudy conditions stay put tonight with showers moving in during the morning commute on Thursday as one of the areas of low pressure passes to our south. Showers will continue through the afternoon, and we may log up to an inch of rain in some areas though most of us will have around 3/4" of rain. Not only will it be wet, but it's also going to be very chilly with highs in the upper-40s.
There is a pleasant temperature rebound ahead for the rest of the 7-day period. Friday is expected to be partly cloudy as high pressure begins to build up across the eastern half of the country. Highs will also be returning to the lower-60s Friday afternoon. By this weekend, we'll have much more sunshine and temperatures are going to climb back to the mid-to-upper-60s.
The beginning of the new work week stays unseasonably warm with a high of 70° Monday, and 68° Tuesday. The forecast also stays dry through the middle of next week.
