LANCASTER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Virginia State Police's Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place on Monday night in Lancaster County. At approximately 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, a deputy with Lancaster County Sheriff's Office began to pursue the driver of a 2004 Grand Marquis who shot and wounded a male victim. Police confirmed the victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries. Police said it was determined that the driver approached officers with a gun and shot at them. A Lancaster County Sheriff's deputy fired their weapon and the driver was hit once -- resulting in non-life-threatening injuries. No deputies were injured in this incident, the case is still under investigation.
