CAYCE, S.C. (WOLO)– A new multi-million dollar project is coming to a Columbia suburb. On Tuesday afternoon, Tuesday, Nov. 12, City of Cayce leaders announced the ’12 Thousand Year History Park’ located on Fort Congaree Trail. The park will include a visitor’s center and is made possible thanks to a donation from the Boyd family and money from the General Assembly. Cayce Mayor Elise Partin says the park will not only be a spot for outdoor recreation but also a historical marker at a place where humans are believed to have inhabited for more than 12 thousand years. Groundbreaking on the project is set for the new year and is expected to take 12 months to complete. Categories: Lexington, Local News Tags: city of cayce
