NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — WGNO airs the Tamron Hall Show on weekdays at 3 p.m.
The star was recently in New Orleans and stopped by our studio to chat about the show and her new book.
Numerous guests have graced her stage including Venus Williams and Miranda Lambert but when asked who would be her dream guest, she said:
"For me, and, you know, you've been doing this a long time. We love what we do. And there's a feeling that you get from a guest. So we are lucky to have huge stars. But when you talk to people who are ready to come to play, they're ready to tell their story. They're ready to have a conversation. It's what matters."

Hall has made the jump from journalists and having really high-profile jobs, on the journalistic side to now hosting a talk show. She explained what that transition has been like.
"You know what that part has really been? I hate to say the word easy, but it has been because as a storyteller, I want to sit down. I want to be able to laugh with you, cry with you, cook with you, whatever it is. So my world as a journalist, I was a general assignment reporter, which means you go in the newsroom and they tell you the story that you're covering that day, what you're going through, what you're going to cover. But it gives you a wide range."
Hall explained her love of cooking and announced her brand new book "A Confident Cook".

"I just mentioned to my father and I was raised by my stepfather, says the dad, that God meant for me to have. And he was the most phenomenal cook. He loved two things the army and his family. And when he passed away in 2008, I really wanted to honor this love of cooking. I dabbled a little bit, but I ate more than I cooked. So I was like, okay, how do I do this? And I happened to meet Liz styling. She's a James Beard Award-winning, producer chef. And we went on this journey as friends to build my confidence in the kitchen."
