WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A driver is facing civil infractions after a crash involving multiple pedestrians at the Winston-Salem State University Homecoming Parade, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department. The collision took place at around 11:05 a.m. on Saturday. Five pedestrians were involved in the crash as well as another vehicle. All parties involved were a part of the parade. The people who were hit suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision. On Tuesday, the driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision with a pedestrian and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision with a vehicle. Police say the crash was caused by the driver failing to maintain control of the vehicle.
