RI Labor Relations Board to discuss RIAC, Pawtucket firefighters
Nov 12, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Rhode Island Labor Relations Board will meet today to discuss “unfair labor practices” at T.F. Green, as well as the Pawtucket fire union’s claim that the city named a probationary firefighter as third-in-command.
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation said it was terminating its fire department Lieutenant Steven Parent for “gross misconduct” and “retaliatory behavior.”
Parent was also the president of the union that represents airport employees.
The union says the RIAC’S claims are baseless.
For the Pawtucket Fire Department, the department said the union’s members all failed to put in a bid for the job opening.
The LRB’s meeting begins at 9 a.m. in Cranston, and is a closed session.
