8 Santa Fe schools see improvement in state ratings

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Several Santa Fe public schools are officially improving. The New Mexico Public Education Department published the latest school ratings in the state with eight Santa Fe Public Schools previously listed as "needing improvement" moving up to "traditional" status.

The ratings are primarily based on test scores, but this year, NMPED also looked at individual student growth in each school not just overall student proficiency. According to school officials, all Santa Fe public schools now hold a "traditional" or "spotlight" status.
